Students Chosen to Participate in Illinois Art Education Association contest
4th Grader, Mark Pivek, wins award
by Nancy Staszak
The Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) student contest has forty winners from all the students in the state of Illinois. Thousands and thousands of children compete. The competition is K through 12.
These students were finalists (chosen by me) to represent Schiesher School for the IAEA annual student contest. I submitted their works of art. This year we are very honored to have a winner chosen for his third grade work last year: Mark Pivek.
Mark’s work was professionally framed and was on display in Galena, where the conference was held this year late October. Now Mark’s work will tour the state of Illinois. The ”Art Tour” lasts about a year before Mark gets his work back. The other students will have their work returned to them at this week’s Talent Show.
