Building a Strong Home-School Connection in Lisle’s Pre-K/Early Childhood Classes

On Monday, April 13th, several parents from Jill Marino and Diane Johnson’s Pre-K and Early Childhood classes participated in a workshop presented by parent liaison, Kelly Towey, and Reading Coach, Regina Leeberg. The workshop focused on fostering a deeper connection between home and school by providing a variety of strategies used in the classroom which could also be utilized in the home. Topics explored included what precipitates behavior, how to communicate clearly with children, and how movement and music strengthen good behavior and enhance learning. Mrs. Towey and Mrs. Leeberg plan to continue a series of workshops which offer support for parents while focusing on students’ social, emotional and intellectual growth.
