Important Fifth Grade Band Information

Hello students and parents,
Mr. Green and Mr. Gumina teach small groups of students on a weekly basis at band lessons. Students are reminded that there is no substitution for daily practice at home in order to be prepared for lessons, improve on your instrument, and enjoy making music.
Schiesher Fifth Grade Band Students
Mr. Green and Mr. Gumina again congratulate you on a fantastic first year in band! We know that many of you have decided to continue in band. Way to go! If you have not signed up or are still undecided, it is not too late. Please strongly consider continuing in band in your 6th grade year. Parents can simply call the junior high and speak with Mr. Royhl to change their schedule and/or sign-up at any time before the start of the school year. I am looking forward to hearing you make more great music at the junior high next year. Please don’t forget to keep “in-shape” on your instrument by practicing over the summer months.
If you have not done so already, please purchase Standard of Excellence Book 2 by Bruce Pearson and Warm-ups and Beyond by Tim Loest. You will use these books throughout the 6th grade year. An informational sheet of retailers and phone numbers was given to all 5th grade band students in May. Here is a link to that form:

Some of the Schiesher 5th grade band students were awarded lesson scholarships on Thursday, May 12, 2011. The scholarship recipients were: Hailey Andrzejewski, Sophie Barnett, Nicholas Brown, Aaron Cail, Joel Clancy, Michael Cracco, Amanda Ericson, Jacqueline Grecco, Ashlyn Jachim, Terrence Lin, Owen McConville, Patrick Nitzki, Sophia Osborn, Bich-Nhu Pham, Shea Spence, Emily Stears, and Collin Walker.
