7th & 8th Grade Student Electives
Your son/daughter will be asked to choose his or her elective(s) for next year on May 11th. Please review the following details about the electives offered and discuss this decision with your student.
- All elective courses are designed for the full year. Students will not be allowed to add or drop an elective after September 4, 2012.
- If you choose not to take an elective, you will have study hall every day.
- Band meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you choose to take band and another elective, you will not have a study hall.
- All other electives meet two days per week.
7th Grade Choices – you may pick up to two electives
Spanish I, Part I
French I, Part I
To enroll in a foreign language, you must have achieved a minimum of a “C” average in your 6th grade Literature and Language Arts classes. In order to take Spanish as an 8th grader, you must pass Spanish I, Part I in 7th grade.
8th Grade Choices – you may pick up to two electives
Spanish I, Part II
French I, Part II
To enroll in Spanish I, Part II you must have earned a minimum GPA of a “D” in Spanish I, Part I in 7th grade.
To enroll in French I, Part II you must have earned a minimum GPA of a “D” in French I, Part I in 7th grade.
