Lisle Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad Competes at Benedictine University, Qualifies for State!

The Lisle Science Olympiad team competed in their regional competition at Benedictine University on Saturday.  Lisle 202 was represented by three teams at the competition: a Division C (grades 9-12) team and two Division B (grades 6-8) teams.  All team members who participated did a great job!

 

In Lisle High School's Inaugural year, our Division C team won six medals amid very tough competition.

4th place:

  • Shannon Tai and Kate Behrokh in Disease Detectives
  • Melissa Patterson and Ryan Twaddle in Dynamic Planet
  • Kate Behrokh and Ryan Twaddle in Forensics

3rd place:

  • Spencer Twaddle, Greg Dzuricsko and Neal Kfoury in Picture This

2nd place:

  • Connor Liss and Stephanie Loconsole in Write It Do It
  • Robbie Dean and Greg Dzuricsko in Environmental Chemistry

 

Our Division B Junior Varsity team won one medal (only one medal per event was awarded):

  • Brittany Tommila and George Swedie - 1st place in Ecology

 

Our Division B Varsity team won eleven medals:

4th place:

  • Lakshayaa Balaji and Megan Dwyer in Crave the Wave
  • Hannah Kfoury and Max Tarasewicz in Scrambler

3rd place:

  • Steven Sonnefeldt and Max Tarasewicz in Ecology
  • Colton Andrews and Hannah Kfoury in Amphibians and Reptiles
  • Sam Nolan and Colton Andrews in Fossils
  • Miranda Coleman and Andrew Mogensen in Compute This
  • Erin Johnson and Colton Andrews in Meteorology

2nd place:

  • Andrew Trzeciak and Ben Schwarz in Physical Science Lab
  • Sam Nolan and Ian Parks in Wright Stuff
  • Erin Johnson and Ben Schwarz in Write It Do It

1st place:

  • Max Tarasewicz and Ian Parks in Elevated Bridge

 

The Division B Varsity team placed 4th overall and qualified for the State competition at the University of Illinois on April 25th!
