“Hi Ho Hi Ho, it’s off to the dig we go…”
That’s what we 3rd graders said as we worked in the Dinosaur unit in Science this year. Fossil hunting is hard work, let alone trying to figure out just what kind of dinosaur that bunch of bones was and how it lived. But that’s exactly what we did when we went on our Dino Digs. It was fun, messy and exciting. Then our research skills came in handy as we got ready to create a Dinosaur power point on a dino of our choice. The trick was that the dino we chose had to be somewhat like us. Believe it or not, we were able to find many similarities. Imagine, a third grader having more than 3 things in common with a giganotosaurus! Some of us even created a diorama on a different dinosaur after more research. Making the diorama was a lot of fun and showed more of our creative talents.
So, if anyone asks, we know that dinosaurs are really interesting, but it sure is a tough job being a paleontologist!
