LJHS Educator Linda Mersky Named IEA Stalwart Award Winner
Linda Mersky has worn Lisle Education Association hats as president, negotiations team member, a delegate to the IEA Representative Assembly, membership chair, and building rep…..
But what made her stand out as a Illinois Education Association Region 31 Stalwart Award Winner this spring was her dedication to the LEA, her valued opinion, her calm approach along with her tenacious attitude.
She has been a leader for class size reduction and fairness and equity for all teachers. For others of different religious faiths, she crafted a plan to provide days-off to support them.
Yet, we also need to look at her as teacher…tough, encouraging, accurate, caring, and fair. Her walls feature students’ work – a no brick uncovered timeline of the school year. Her shelves are teeming with books for junior high literature and English studies.
Linda Mersky has been a friend to her colleagues and a consummate teacher to her students.
