PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
The LHS Home and School Organization (HSO) is truly a partnership between the families, administration and faculty of Lisle Senior High School. Our goal is to support our community of students, parents, and teachers.
If you have not joined the HSO we urge you to do so. Your $7.00 per family donation goes a long way to help the HSO provide things for your children. Our meetings are open and we welcome any parents who would like to help make a difference in their child's high school experience. Please feel free to join us at any of our monthly meetings – see the HSO Schedule of Events below or the district calendar for all the dates - at 7 p.m. in the conference room at the high school.
With your generous support last year we were again able to fund our annual services - providing bottled water for our students during testing, serving lunch to the faculty and staff for Teacher Appreciation Day, making a donation to the Senior Prom, hosting the Senior Banquet - a special evening for all our graduating seniors and making a $2,500 contribution to the HSO Council's Scholarship Awards. In the past we have also been able to donate benches that are in front of the school, the display case by the auditorium to exhibit our talented children’s Fine Arts work and provide volunteers for the Young Hearts for Life EKG screening for students.
We could not accomplish anything we do without you! This year in addition to the annual services we provide, we will once again be providing volunteers for the ECC Screening for students on April 20, 2012. In order to continue to support the high school community, the LHS HSO sponsors the following fundraisers:
50/50 Raffle: This fun fundraiser that takes place during our home football games and basketball games.
Holiday Craft Fair: The annual event is scheduled for Sunday November 6, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., at the high school. If you are interested in joining as a crafter, please email Marilyn Buchholz at mbuchholz@lisle202.org.
The HSO Council also raises money for Scholarship Awards through the sale of Market Day, which can be picked up monthly at the high school or purchased directly from Sara Lee on Ogden Ave. in Downers Grove – check it out at Marketday.com. The HSO Council also holds a Spring Flower Sale. Orders are placed in February, and this year pick-up will be on May 5, 2012. Order forms are sent home with report cards in January. Remember 100% of the profit from these two events goes directly to the Scholarship Award Program. Last spring, the HSO gave a total of $12,461.00 to 17 graduating seniors.
