The Physical Development and Health curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and movement skills needed to engage in health-enhancing physical activity. Safety, game rules, strategies, and skill techniques are stressed as students participate in a variety of traditional sports and games activities. Students learn to apply the principles of training while they work to improve their personal level of physical fitness. Team-building activities require students to utilize the lifelong skills of problem-solving and cooperation. A variety of topics are also covered in grades six, seven, and eight enabling students to make informed decisions regarding their overall health and wellness.
