I retired from full time teaching in Lisle after 32 years in 2003. I then came back part-time as the Academically Talented/Gifted Facilitator and teacher. I teach the Language Arts and math Academically Talented classes once a week. During this time I team teach with the teachers on higher order thinking skills and various other units. I also pull out the the top 2-5% of the Academically Talented students for a weekly class. Here I give the gifted students opportunities to enrich the curriculum with projects and problem solving techniques. I also collaborate weekly with the teachers concerning students, curriculum, and issues that affect the academically talented program in Lisle.
