School Board Goals

Lisle Community Unit School District 202 Board Goals

“As the corporate entity charged by law with governing a school district, each School Board sits in trust for its entire community.  The obligation to govern effectively imposes some fundamental duties on the Board:  The Board clarifies the District purpose; the Board connects with the community; the Board employs a superintendent; the Board delegates authority; the Board monitors performance, and the Board takes responsibility for itself.”  (Illinois Association of School Boards)  District 202 Board of Education members strongly support the specification of annual goals for themselves.  The purpose of these goals is to provide direction and ensure continuous improvement.  After reviewing quantitative and qualitative data, the Board of Education members have developed the following 2009/2010 Board Goals:

  • Goal I:   Continuously monitor progress towards meeting District Goals and compliance with Board policies.

  • Goal II:  Empower and evaluate the superintendent’s management of the District and leadership of the staff.

  • Goal III:  Develop a new evaluation tool for assessing the superintendent’s progress towards meeting the District Goals, management of the District and leadership of the staff.

  • Goal IV:  Conduct periodic self-evaluations with the goal of continuous improvement.

It is the goal of the Lisle CUSD 202 Board of Education to constantly strive toward excellence.
