Dear Tate Woods Families,
Welcome to November! This month offers us a wonderful opportunity to give thanks to our friends, families, teachers and others in our lives. What are you thankful for?
I'm thankful for many things, but most importantly I'm thankful for you and your beautiful children. I have the best job in the world and I wouldn't be able to do what I do without all of you! Thank you for trusting me and my staff with your most important thing...your children!
November is an exciting time also because we get to spend time with all of you here at school during Parent/Teacher Conferences. This is an opportunity for us to talk about your child's successes and areas of growth. Before we meet for conferences, we ask you to think about these things...
1. Have you seen your child grow this school year? What are some specific changes you've seen your child make? Have they mastered more sight words? Have they become a more fluent reader? Are they able to think more deeply about their math? Has their behavior improved?
2. What is your child working on? We ALL have areas of growth and during conferences you can expect us to share things that your child is doing well and things we want them to work on.
3. What questions do you have about the instruction provided at school?
4. How will you talk with your child about conference with their teacher? Asking them what they are doing well and what they are working on is a good way to start. Sharing what you are proud of and how you will help them with their areas of growth are also important.
