Reindeer, Puppies and Kazoos...Oh, My!
Kazoo players, Reindeer and a Polar Puppy were all on hand when the first graders from Tate Woods took the stage for their holiday performance on December 15th. The students learned five different songs during music class in a variety of styles which included swing, classical and hip-hop. A number of students took part as narrators, reindeer, and kazoo players. There was even a “puppy” on hand who just loved to bark. This was a first-time experience for many of the students and even though before the show there was a bit of “stage fright”, the day after when the music and props were all put away until next year, one student entered music class and immediately asked, “Can we sing all the songs from our program today?” Others cried, “Yes, yes! Can we?!” With that kind of enthusiasm, what choice did their music teacher have? Everyone enjoyed singing “Hip Hop Reindeer” one more time!
