Welcome to Pre-K Web site. My name is Jillian Marino, and this is my sixth year in District 202. I received a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education with an approval in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. I have a teacher’s assistant in my classroom, Candace Lorkiewicz, who provides instructional support.
About Our Program
The P.R.I.D.E. pre-kindergarten program services at-risk children ranging from 3-5 years old in the Lisle community. The program has one afternoon session from 12:45-3:15pm. Transportation to and from the program is available.
Our program is funded through the Illinois State Board of Education Early Childhood Block Grant. Children must be screened, meet certain requirements, and live within the Lisle School District boundaries to participate in P.R.I.D.E., the at-risk pre-kindergarten program.
Our Screening Process
The district has an ongoing early childhood screening process. Anytime you have concerns about your child's development, you may contact the district and request that a questionnaire be mailed to your home. If you would like additional information on our screening process and/or would like to request a questionnaire please call Kay Collins at (630) 493-8008. Once you have completed and returned the questionnaire to the district, early childhood professionals will review the information and notify you of the results and any other assessments that may need to be conducted.
Important News and Information
There is no school during winter break, Wednesday, December 22 - Tuesday, January 4th. The first day of school after winter break is Wednesday, January 5th.
The Pre-K Calendar
The Pre-K program follows the district's calendar for holidays and vacation days. However, when the district has an early dismissal day the Pre-K program does not meet.
Pre- K School Supplies:
Please note that contributing supplies for the classroom is not required. However, we encourage each child to bring a backpack and folder to school each day to bring home papers, library books and other things from school.
Bring to school each day:
- A backpack
- 1 folder (make sure it fits in the backpack and write your child’s name on it). Please check your child's backpack each day for important papers.
Classroom supplies:
- 1 roll of paper towel or 1 box of tissues
- 1 box of snacks (Snack is distributed amongst the whole class. Please do not send an individual serving.)
- 1 can/bottle of juice
- If your child still has bathroom accidents (frequent or not), you must provide a small package of diapers or pull-ups and wipes. (We will store the materials and return any unused diapers at the end of the school year.)
Other items:
One change of clothes (pants, underwear, shirt, socks). We will store the extra set of clothes in the classroom. Extra clothes are for unforeseen messes and accidents. We will return the clothes at the end of the school year.
