The Accent on Achievement at the May Board of Education meeting focused on celebrating the talented students in Early Childhood through High School who won the People’s Choice Awards at the Ninth Annual District Art Show in March. Each student’s artwork was displayed among many tremendous student works of art and one winner was selected at each grade level for EC - 8 and four winners (not grade specific) were selected at the high school level as examples of excellence by Art Show attendees. Check out the award winning pieces here! We are proud to honor these talented artists!
As a culminating event for the Fourth Grade study of economics, Everfi (the online program supporting the study), Lisle Savings Bank, and our Lieutenant Governor, Evelyn Sanguinetti, presented to our students on the importance of financial literacy. "Whether you want to grow up to be a teacher, politician, banker, computer programmer, scientist, lawyer, or doctor, what you have learned in this course will be vitally important. In each of those careers, you will be asked to think about money and how it impacts you, your job, and your family," said Lt. Governer Sanguinetti. In addition, students shared their own learning and how it will change the way they make decisions about money in the future.
Thank you to Lt. Governor Sanguinetti for visiting our school!
Each year US News & World Report ranks the best high schools in the nation. We are pleased to share that this year Lisle High School ranks in the top 5% of Illinois high schools and the top 5% of high schools nationally.
The annual ranking analyzes the performance of more than 22,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia on state proficiency tests. Qualifying criteria include student performance in mathematics and reading, the ability of the school to promote the success of all students, and the level of success and degree of participation in Advanced Placement courses and exams.
Although these distinctions focus on specific grade spans and schools, it is the collective work of everyone in District 202 which has led to these excellent results. Each level in our District contributes to the success of our students and we are honored to see these efforts recognized in publications as prestigious as the U.S News & World Report.
