Meet the Board
Appointed to the Board in September, 2015 and elected in 2017, Ms. Sima and her husband have two children, a 2017 Lisle High School graduate and one who is currently a student in District 202. Ms. Sima is an attorney for FMS Law Group, practicing in the area of probate and guardianship law. Ms. Sima received her BA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, majoring in political science and psychology, and her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University. She previously served on the Vision 202 Facilitating Team, was the chairperson for the Wilde Field Lights Advisory Committee, and served on the Village of Lisle Planning and Zoning Commission. Ms. Sima currently serves as the President of the Lisle District 202 Board of Education and is an active volunteer in the Lisle community.
Appointed to the Board in November 2004 and subsequently elected in 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017, Ms. Ahlmann and her husband have three children, all of whom attended Lisle 202 school from K-12 and graduated from Lisle High School. A District Manager for the Social Security Administration, Ms. Ahlmann received her B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in Sociology and Psychology. She served as Board President from 2007-2017 and continues to serve on the the Intergovernmental Council and the Lisle Education Foundation Board, along with being an active volunteer in the community.
Mrs. McConville was elected to the Board of Education in 2013 and re-elected in 2017. She and her husband, Ron, have three children enrolled in District 202. Mrs. McConville is a registered CPA and works for Keats Manufacturing Company. She serves as the treasurer for Lisle Education Foundation and actively volunteers in the Lisle community.
Appointed to the Board in October, 2017, Mr. Helderle and his wife are Lisle natives and have two children, both of whom are current students in District 202. Mr. Helderle is an application manager and project manager at Northern Trust in Chicago and is a certified project manager from the Project Management Institute. Mr. Helderle received his B.S. degree from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, majoring in computer science and minoring in business administration. He also previously served on the Vision 202 Facilitating Team.
Appointed to the Board in October, 2018, Ms. Kiener-Barnett has resided in Lisle for 12 years with her husband and daughter. Until her retirement in May, 2018, she was a music educator for 35 years, with the past 27 years as the Director of Bands at Lisle Junior High School. Ms. Kiener-Barnett attended DePaul University School of Music in Chicago and Roosevelt University in Chicago. As an educator, she served on numerous committees, Boards, has served on the Executive Board of the Illinois Grade School Music Association for 30 years and is currently State President for the northern division. Ms. Kiener-Barnett remains active as an adjudicator and clinician at music competitions and festivals throughout the Chicagoland area.
Wendy was elected to School Board in April of 2015. She lives in Lisle with her husband Andy and their two children; Dominique, who graduated from Lisle Senior High in 2012, and Cameron who attends Schiesher Elementary School. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from North Central College in Studio Art and Art History. She is actively involved in the community by serving on committees such as the Memorial Day and 4th of July Parades, Partners for Parks, and Eyes to the Skies.
Mrs. Sims was appointed to the Board in August 2019. She has resided in Lisle with her husband Michael and four children for 11 years. During her residency, Mrs. Sims has been an active part of the community; serving as Treasurer for the Pine Hill Homeowners Association since 2009, coach of the Lisle FIRST LEGO League team since 2014, and prior to that served on the Boards for Cub Scout Pack 108 and Boy Scout Troop 108 in Lisle. Her work history includes 25 years in the finance industry, four years in regulatory compliance and four years as a Notary Public for the State of Illinois.
All of the Board Members have successfully completed the training requirements of School Code 105 ILCS 5/10-16a.
