The Lisle 202 Fine Arts Shine During December Concerts

December is filled with the sweet sounds of music at the many concerts and events at each of our schools.  Thank you to the talented musicians and our Fine Arts Departments for sharing the amazing music with our learning community!

The Board of Education approved total property taxes of $29,278,000 while also abating $580,000 of taxes related to outstanding bonds.  The School District expects the net result to be a slight decrease in the average homeowner's tax bill next year.  The School Board evaluated fifteen (15) different property tax scenarios and believed the option unanimously approved met the fiscal responsibility of the School District while also being sensitive to the financial needs of the community.

How is construction progressing on the new Lisle Elementary School?

Over the past several months, construction crews have worked to erect the exterior structure of the building.  It is now resembling the renderings of our future school!

When will the new school open?

We are pleased to share that the project continues to be on budget and is scheduled to open according to plan in August 2019.

What will happen to the current elementary buildings?

The Tate Woods building has been sold to Kindi Academy, a math and science academy.  The Board of Education is currently considering options for the Schiesher building, but no decision has been made a this time.

Please Help Us Grow!

Each year, Illinois conducts a climate survey called the 5Essentials Survey.  Parents, students in Grades 4-12 and Teachers are invited to take the survey.

Please take a moment to complete this important survey!  We need at least 20% participation at each school for the survey results  to be counted.

Emergency School Closing Information

This past week we utilized our new mass communications system for Monday's school closing due to inclement weather.  You should have received communications via email, phone, and text (if you have indicated a cell number in PowerSchool).  If you did not receive a communication, please contact the District at info@lisle202.org.  Thank you!

If you haven't had a chance yet, please take a moment to review school closing procedures on our website.

Substitute Teachers Needed

Lisle 202 is in need of qualified substitute teachers at all grade levels.  Substitute teachers must have a valid teaching certificate.  Please apply online here.  For licensure information, please visit the Illinois State Board of Education Website.

Today's teens may seem more successful yet they've also never struggled more with anxiety, stress and depression. Author Rachel Simmons exposes the dilemma of a narrow, unattainable vision of 'success', translates the toxic messages that teens have internalized, and provides the tools young people need to practice self-compassion, and pursue purpose to let them know they are enough as they are.
