BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

January 25, 2021 Meeting

K-8 Student Academic Progress Presentation

  • The K-8 Administrative team presented information about the iReady assessment series to the Board.  The iReady series aligns with the Illinois State Standards and provides progress data as well as resources to support student improvement.  Preliminary data indicates that the iReady resources have a positive impact on student growth.  Lisle K-8 students participated in the iReady Reading and Math assessment components for the first time in the fall.

  • These results will serve as a baseline for the future and allow teachers to target specific skill areas to review and/or enhance to optimize student learning.

  • Due to the pandemic, the spring 2020 Illinois Assessment of Readiness, the State testing series, did not occur.

  • The Lisle High School presentation will be shared on February 17, 2021.

Activity Bus Purchase

  • The Board approved the purchase of new activity buses to transport students to and from athletic and activity events.  The new buses will replace the current vans that were purchased in 1998.
