What is the schedule for the beginning of the year?

(Updated 8/10/2020)

With many new procedures, protocols and instructional shifts being necessary for this school year, the District has decided to delay the first day of school to Wednesday, August 26th.  The calendar will be as follows:

  • August 26:  First day of school for Remote Learning for All and Lisle Virtual Academy
  • September 7: Labor Day, No School

*PreK specific information will be sent separately.

Why is the  High School Virtual Academy being offered through Edgenuity instead of being taught by Lisle CUSD 202 teachers?

Based on the minor interest in the Virtual Academy by High School parents and the limited number of staff in each subject area, the School District cannot provide direct instruction for both in-person (eventual) and virtual options.  However, a Lisle 202 staff member will support the students and facilitate the online learning experience. Families who wish to stay in remote learning, even in when in-person instruction resumes, should choose the Lisle Virtual Academy.

Will students be provided a device?

All students will be provided devices. PK-1 students will be provided iPads and students in grades 2-12 will receive Chromebooks.

If my child participates in the Lisle Virtual Academy (100% online learning), will they have to continue virtual learning for the entire school year?

(Updated 7/30/2020)

Commitment to the selected instructional model is for the first semester for junior high and high school and after the first trimester for elementary, but we strongly encourage students to remain in the instructional model chosen at the start of the school year.  If a family wishes to change the selected instructional model at semester/trimester, the school will work with the family to facilitate a change.  Families who wish to stay in remote learning even in when in-person instruction resumes, should choose the Lisle Virtual Academy.

Will remote and online learning look different than what was implemented after Spring Break?

(Updated 8/2/2020)

Yes, students will be expected to engage in the curriculum whether in-person or online.  Lisle 202 is leveraging various technology platforms to provide a robust online learning experience.
