Lisle Elementary Preschool

Lisle Elementary Preschool is available to Lisle families with children who reside in District 202 and qualify through our screening process.

The screening process is ongoing throughout the year

If you have concerns about your child's development, you may contact the Anna Jezyk, School Psychologist, at ajezyk@isle202.org at Lisle Elementary School and request that an Ages and Stages Questionnaire be emailed or mailed to your home.

Additional Information about the screening process

Please complete and return the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. Our staff will review the information you share once received. We will then contact you to discuss results and any other assessments that may be needed. After the screening process, you will be invited to enroll your child in Lisle Elementary Preschool If your child is eligible.

About Our Program

Lisle Elementary Preschool is a blended program that services at-risk children and children with special needs ranging from 3-5 years old in the Lisle community. Children enrolled in our program engage in activities that encourage the development of social emotional skills and school readiness in a play-based learning environment.

The program has:

One morning session from 8:45am-11:15am
One afternoon session from 12:45-3:15pm
District transportation is available to those who qualify

Assessment

Teaching Strategies GOLD

According to the Teaching Strategies GOLD information, Teaching Strategies GOLD is a observational system for assessing children from birth through kindergarten in situations that are every day experiences. This type of observation is an effective way to learn what they know and can do. "Teaching Strategies GOLD is based on 38 objectives for development and learning that include predictors of school success and are based on school readiness standards."

Lisle Elementary Preschool Program uses a variety of resources and teaching approaches to meet the needs of each of our little Lions:

Creative Curriculum
- The Creative Curriculum provides a framework to nurture academic and school readiness skills while building a love of learning.
Handwriting Without Tears
- This handwriting program helps students learn to recognize and form letters in a fun and developmentally appropriate manner.
TeachTown
- TeachTown is a program that integrates strategies specifically designed to meet the needs of a wide range of needs.

Resources

Lisle Elementary Preschool Supply List

Bring to school each day:

A backpack: to transport information, library books, and other things from school to home and back. Please label with your child’s name. A backpack tag will be provided. Please NO rolling backpacks.
1 folder for home/school communication (make sure they fit in the backpack and write your child’s name on them)

Classroom supplies:

Please Note that contributing supplies for the classroom is not required, but donations are appreciated

Tissue

Other Items:

Extra Clothes: please provide a change of clothes (pants/shirts) for your child. If an accident occurs, we will then have supplies to change your child. Please send multiple pairs of underwear and socks and LABEL all items with your child’s name
Pull-ups/Diapers/Wipes: if your child is still potty training, please send in a good amount- if your child’s stack is running low, we will send a note home
Snack: A small, healthy snack is provided to students during school.
