LHS Butterfly Garden Supports Monarch Species Recovery

Caterpillar on flower stemDid you know that LHS has a butterfly garden? Ecology Club, APES, and NHS along with Mrs. Schwarz and Mr. H. Anderson have all contributed to the flourishing butterfly garden. They have planted many, many seedlings since the spring of 2019 in the hopes of attracting monarchs and pollinators. We are happy to report that there are a few caterpillars in the garden, munching away on the butterfly plants! This is a huge step in establishing this garden as a monarch butterfly waystation for migration and for monarch species recovery. If you stop by...please be sure to enjoy from a comfortable distance to let the caterpillars do their thing!
