Work Permits

Lisle 202 students and younger minors, residing within the boundaries of Lisle Community Unit School District 202, may apply to obtain a work permit using the procedure outlined below. Employment of 12-15 year old youths is limited to certain occupations outside school hours only and under specified conditions of work as set forth in Child Labor Provisions of the Fair Labor Act. Students interested in working during the school year must complete the requirements below in order to secure a work permit from Lisle District 202. Please carefully review the Work Permit information prior to requesting approval and a school official's signatures. Be sure to consult the Illinois General Assembly website for a complete list of what type of employment is allowed/prohibited.

Required Documents:

Birth Certificate
A current Physical dated within 1 year of application
Letter of Intent from Employer or the completed Work Permit - Letter of Intent to Hire document with the employer's signature
The completed Application for a Work Permit
A completed School Official's Statement to Issuing Officer, to be signed by the minor's current principal.
If the applicant will be a performer, please provide the following additional items:
- Proof of their Child Performer Trust fund
A copy of a government-issued photo ID (front and back) for the parent or legal guardian on the minor’s birth certificate or court order regarding adoption or guardianship

Work permits are issued Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m. during the school year. Please contact the school representative listed below to make an appointment or if you have questions regarding the process.

Non-Attendance Days & Summer Months

Work permits are issued at the District Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m. on student non-attendance days and during the summer months.
