Fifth graders from Lisle Elementary School recently had their outdoor education experience at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort, Illinois. Thanks to a generous donation from the Lisle Education Foundation, Camp Manitoqua was offered to all fifth graders at no cost.
Some of the activities that students participated in were tree climbing with harnesses and ropes, fishing, large group games, initiatives, paintball with slingshots, archery and an instructional nature hike. These exciting and educational activities built student’s social and emotional skills as they worked, problem-solved, and communicated together. They needed to apply these skills, as well as creativity and collaboration in order to succeed.
