Art Students Participate in SDEAA Conference Art Show
JH Art Show Participants

Creativity was on full display at the first SDEAA Conference Art Show, held on April 18 at Gower Middle School. Nearly 80 student artworks from Lisle Junior High School, Gower Middle School, Eisenhower Junior High School, and Butler Junior High School were selected and showcased in this juried exhibition, celebrating the talent, imagination, and artistic expression of junior high students across the conference.

Students had the opportunity to showcase their work, participate in art-making activities, and view both their own pieces and the artwork of fellow student artists. Judging was based on creativity, use of media, art elements and principles, and composition.

Several LJHS students earned medals in their grade levels. In 8th grade, Olivia B. tied for 2nd place for her photograph alongside Leah V. for her Ceramic Relief Tile, while Madelyn M. tied for 3rd place for her drawing. In 7th grade, Ece D. tied for 1st place for her needle-felted painting. Joseph W. earned a tie for 2nd place for his photograph, alongside Arina K. for her mixed media mosaic, and Ethan T. placed 5th for his mixed media collage. In 6th grade, Magnolia F.’s mixed media creature drawing tied for 2nd place.

Congratulations to all of our student artists and award winners! Mrs. McIntyre is incredibly proud of all the LJHS artists who represented our school so well.
