Each year, our French students participate in and excel at Levels 1–5 of Le Grand Concours, a national competition that assesses French reading and listening comprehension skills.

Madame Novak and Monsieur Smid are incredibly proud of the 22 students who earned medals in 2026 and would like to congratulate each of them on their hard work and dedication. 

This year, Em L. earned her fifth consecutive gold medal and was nominated to apply for a scholarship to France through the Alliance Française. After a competitive interview process against other top students from the Chicagoland area, Em was selected to study at the Sorbonne University in Paris for four weeks this summer. We wish Em bonne chance as she heads to France!
