Through the coordination with the DuPage Area Occupational Education System (DAOES), two sections of the Introduction to Engineering class took a field trip to ASK Power in Naperville, Illinois. ASK Power, part of the Sicame Group, manufactures plastic and metal connectors for the repair and construction of commercial power lines. Students were given a tour of the facility, heard a presentation on design and manufacturing, and participated in fixing a powerline using tools and safety equipment. They also were able to see all the business and administrative departments required in the facility including design, billing, procurement, engineering, quality control, and marketing. A big thank you goes out to ASK Power for hosting such an amazing event!
