LHS Jazz Band Learns From Professional Musician

On Thursday, November 10, 2022, the Lisle High School Band program hosted former professor of Jazz at Northern Illinois University, Mr. Ron Carter. Mr. Carter led a 2-hour jazz performance clinic where students learned about, interacted with, and experimented with refining their approach, concept, and performance of jazz styles. Ron Carter has had a distinguished career as an educator, director, clinician, musician, and author. Lisle HS is no stranger to Mr. Carter's visits. He now resides in North Carolina, but every time he finds himself back in Illinois, he offers to come to Lisle to work with the students in our jazz program. Additionally, the NIU Jazz Ensemble performed numerous joint jazz concerts with Lisle students in years past. Thank you to the Lisle Band Parent Organization for funding this unique experience!
