Lisle Competes at the Illinois Envirothon
Group of students holding Envirothon sign

Each year for the last 25 years, Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Northeastern Illinois have sponsored a high school science competition called Envirothon. The competition combines content-specific tests and hands-on field experiences for students in the Chicagoland area. Competing students demonstrate their knowledge in key areas of study including aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife, and a current issues topic. This year's theme, Roots & Resiliency: Fostering Forest Stewardship in a Canopy of Change, got students to examine current forest practices, identify vulnerabilities, and assess necessary adaptations to predict and facilitate conservation in forest areas of North America. Lisle had two teams compete against high schools from the counties of Boone, Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will, and Winnebago. We are proud to announce that Lisle Team #1 placed 2nd in DuPage County and 4th overall out of 25 high school teams. Lisle Team #2 placed 7th in DuPage County and 15th overall. Congratulations to our students on their success this year at Envirothon 2025!
