Lisle High School Students Experience State Government Firsthand
Youth & government header

The weekend of March 22nd, members of our LHS Youth and Government Club traveled to Springfield to participate in the Illinois YMCA Youth and Government Assembly. After months of preparing their own legislation, students took on roles as “legislators” and debated their proposals in the actual chambers of the Illinois Capitol.

They joined over 1,000 students from across the state in this hands-on program, which immerses participants in all aspects of state government— from lawmaking and public speaking to leadership and civic engagement.

We’re proud of our students for their hard work and dedication. Their participation reflects a strong commitment to learning, leadership, and civic responsibility.
