
The LJHS JV Boys Basketball team capped off an incredible season with a thrilling State Championship game filled with excitement and intensity from start to finish. The Lions battled hard against Teutopolis in a closely contested matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats throughout the night.
The game remained tight from the opening tip, with both teams heading into halftime tied at 20–20. The intensity continued into the second half, as neither team was able to pull away, and the score stood even again at 32–32 at the end of the third quarter. In the final minutes of the fourth quarter, Teutopolis managed to edge ahead, but the Lions continued to fight until the final buzzer.
While the outcome did not fall in their favor, the team’s effort, determination, and teamwork were on full display. The Lions’ journey to the State Championship game reflects a season defined by hard work, resilience, and commitment to one another.
We are incredibly proud of our players and coaches for their heart and for the tremendous accomplishment of earning second place in the State. Their season is one that our school community will celebrate and remember with pride.
