Each of our schools honored our country's Veterans this year with assemblies and special events. Take a look!
Lisle Elementary School
Lisle Elementary School held a special assembly to celebrate the families and friends of our learning community who served our country in the armed forces. Our fourth and fifth grade Choruses performed and a special slide show was presented showing the Veterans in our students and staff's lives.
Lisle Junior High School
Lisle Junior High School was honored to have Captain Mir Ali, parent of one of our students, spend the morning sharing his experiences in the military. Our students heard about his time in Afghanistan, and the school experiences for the children in the area he served, and had the opportunity to ask questions about his military service, rank, and more. We thank Captain Ali for spending with our students!
In addition, our school held the Annual Veterans Day Concert on Monday, November 11th in the auditorium to honor those who have served our country. This event is always one of the highlights of the year. Along with the concert, Ms. Miller and the LJHS PRIDE Team set up a Wall of Honor display showing the veterans who have connections to our learning community.
Lisle High School
LHS students and staff once again participated in the CHAD 1000, a Veterans Day tribute and fundraiser organized by our Youth in Government Club. This event raises awareness and funds for Veterans’ mental health initiatives, aligning with our commitment to supporting our community.
We also held our annual Veterans Day Assembly, where we honored all Veterans, particularly our fallen Lisle alumni, and students with family members in the Armed Forces. This year, we were especially touched by senior Emily Gonzalez's tribute to her sister, Lisle alumna Nathalia Gonzalez, who serves in the United States Navy, and her brother-in-law Chris, who serves in the United States Marines.
