Lisle Junior High sixth-grade students have been working on a middle ages disciplinary unit in their social studies and literature classes. Sixth grade students and teachers want to thank the Lisle Education Foundation for their continued support with this engaging, educational extension to their middle ages unit.
The knights explained the culture of the middle ages. Students were active participants in learning about the training of a knight, Medieval armor, weaponry, and castle structure. Time was allocated for questions after the presentation.
The falconer discussed medieval falconry and the history of these birds. Students had the opportunity to see a red-tailed hawk, an American kestrel as well as a peregrine falcon while learning about the uses of these birds of prey during the middle ages. The falconer also allowed for student questions following his presentation.
