One important aspect of the Lisle 202 mission is to provide valuable experiences to our students to assist in preparing them for their futures. With this in mind, each month our Community class takes a field trip somewhere to learn more about a specific topic. Recently, the students in the Community class visited therapeutic horse riding facility for students with special needs. Research has shown that there are benefits from equine therapy that assist in developing the motor, emotional, and sensory sensations that are experienced when riding a horse. While at the facility, the students learned about horses and how to care for the animals including how to groom them and feed them. Following the field trip, students expressed an enthusiastic interest in returning in the spring to ride the horses!
